Joshua Tree National Park The Joshua Tree National Park is located in California, U.S.A. It has over 800,000 acres of land that is covered by trees that are called Joshua trees. Inside the Park, around 501 archaeological excavations have occurred by science,history, and nature teams. Around 123,253 items have been found and now stay in the Joshua Tree National Parks museum to be observed by tourists new scientists, and nature specialists. The actual date that this land became a national monument was in 1936. It was not a park until October 31, 1994 when the Desert Protection Bill was made.(The Desert Protection Bill stated that the Joshua Tree, Death Valley, and Mojave monuments all become national park). Many animals inside Joshua Tree National Park include snakes, bighorn sheep, kangaroo rats, coyotes, and black-tailed jack rabbits. Plant species in this park number in the 750 range.
Petrified Forest National Park The Petrified Forest National Park is located in Arizona on Petrified Forest road. This National park spans 95,533 acres of total land with 50,000 acres of that land being dedicated to wildlife. It was created by Teddy Roosevelt on December 8th 1906, but it not did become a national park until December 9th 1962. There is around 10,000 years of human history and 800 historic and archaeological sites in the park grounds. Hundreds of plant and animals claim this park as their home (examples are the ring necked duck, the great blue heron, and the sharp shinned hawk). This national park is the only park to have the famous Route 66 in its boundaries. The beautiful petrified wood comes in many colors that depends on the different minerals found in them.
